CIRCUITO NACIONAL DE SURF INICIA EL PRÓXIMO FIN DE SEMANA EN ISLA GRANDE - COLON - 04/02/09

El próximo fin de semana inicia el circuito nacional de surf en Isla Grande – Colón donde se reunirán, más de 50 surfers para llevarse el primer título del año.

Sobe Adrenalina Rush, Sniker, Airwalk, Jansport, Etnies, Panama Tatoo, Sandalias 2 surf, Sportek, Wao, Rock and Pop, Radio Mix y Blast se unen al circuito nacional de surf en el 2009 donde se tienen programados 6 eventos nacionales y al menos 1 internacional. El próximo fin de semana, 7 y 8 de febrero, Colón será el escenario de la primera etapa del circuito nacional de surf. Las categorías que competirán son open, tabla femenino, bodyboard masculino, longboard y junior.

La competencia se tiene prevista iniciar el sábado a las 8.00 a.m. y el domingo a las 9.00 a.m. “Iniciamos el circuito todos los años en el Caribe pues es la temporada de swells grandes” nos comenta Rubén García, presidente de la APS.

Isla Grande está ubicada en la provincia de Colón a 1 hora y media de la ciudad de Panamá. Una vez llegas a la Guaria debes tomar un bote que te cruza a la isla por $1.50 o $2.00 por personas aproximadamente. Existen distintos hoteles para hospedarse como Villa Ensueño, Sister Moon, Candy Rose, entre otros.

La conferencia de prensa se llevó a cabo el pasado miércoles 4 de febrero en el restaurante Hooters.

En el 2008 el circuito nacional de surf concluyó con excelentes resultados, Diego Salgado se llevó después de varios años, el título de Campeón Nacional en la categoría open. Enilda “Samanta” Alonso en la categoría femenino, Augusto “Pimpli” López en la categoría longboard, Edilberto “Arielito” Navarro en la categoría bodyboard y Carlos Rinehart en la categoría junior.
