Mundial 2014: la mascota será un armadillo

La FIFA y el Comité Organizador de la Copa del Mundo de fútbol Brasil-2014:(COL) presentaron la mascota de la competición, un sonriente armadillo, cuyo nombre se elegirá en votación popular y que quiere sensibilizar sobre la importancia del medioambiente y la ecología, de la especie ‘tatú-bola’, que está en peligro de extinción en Brasil, informó la prensa local.

Ante el registro de la oficina oficial de marcas, dibujos y modelos de la Unión Europea (OAMI), la FIFA registró una imagen en blanco y negro de frente, y cuatro en 3D y desde distintos ángulos del ‘tolypeuctes tricinctus’ , conocido también como mulita, un mamífero de América tropical de caparazón de placas óseas cubiertas por escamas movibles.

En la prensa local se filtró además el detalle a colores del simpático diseño: tendrá caparazón azul, ojos verdes y tez amarilla, y estará sosteniendo una pelota de fútbol.

La FIFA indicó que el diseño fue presentado en la televisión brasileña ayer 16 de septiembre.
