Dice Viceministro de Seguridad: Foto con el MAN era para la historia

El viceministro de Seguridad Pública, Manuel Moreno, dijo ayer que las fotos y videos difundidos en el que aparece junto al exdictador Manuel Antonio Noriega durante su traslado de París a Panamá, representan una evidencia de que al exgeneral se le traía ‘custodiado, con seguridad, con sus derechos humanos garantizados y que no fue objeto de ningún vejamen físico ni psicológico’.

Tras varios intentos por lograr una reacción sobre las publicaciones en referencia, Moreno dijo que hace un año, cuando fungía como director de la DIJ, fue designado para custodiar a Noriega desde Francia, cuya misión empezó en el aeropuerto de Orly West en París y terminó en el aeropuerto de Tocumen.

Moreno alegó que como cualquier panameño, el grupo que lo custodiaba hubiese querido tener una foto de recuerdo para la posteridad, de una persona tan controversial dentro de la historia panameña, por eso permití que me tomaran foto con él y lo mismo sucedió con las otras personas.

El viceministro Moreno advirtió que no entrará en debate público sobre este tema en los medios de comunicación.

La presencia de Moreno en esa delegación no fue un secreto y se reportó hace un año que Noriega venía sentado en el puesto A-35, al lado de la ventana, en la fila izquierda y lo custodiaba Manuel Moreno, un teniente y un subteniente.

La defensora del Pueblo, Patria Portugal (hija de Heliodoro Portugal, desaparecido durante la dictadura militar), dijo: ‘No me parece que él tenga algún tipo de remordimiento o de querer pedir perdón a la nación por todos los crímenes que cometió’ ‘A estas alturas, de tener un año de estar aquí, era momento de que diera una conferencia de prensa o que hiciera una nota o pidiera que él quisiera dirigirse a los medios de comunicación para pedirle perdón a la nación, pero por supuesto no parece que lo va a hacer’, sentenció Portugal.
