Esta cantidad, que fue suministrada por la División Técnica de Epidemiología del MINSA en la región Atlántica, detalla que siete fueron positivos, a través de la prueba de ELISA.

Para seguir con su campaña nacional, el Ministerio de Salud tendrá este año para las fiesta de carnaval como objetivos específicos, la prevención de las infecciones de transmisión sexual y el VIH/SIDA.

Un informe explica que hasta septiembre de 2003 a nivel nacional un total de 5 mil 763 casos de SIDA fueron detectados, correspondiendo mil 400 al sexo femenino y la mayoría que suman 4 mil 363 en hombres.

También se hizo un balance de los casos de tuberculosis que en los dos primeros meses de este año llegan a cinco. Durante el año anterior fueron reportados 253 casos.
